Community guidelines

Huddles work when people feel safe to show up, online and in real life. These guidelines apply to everything on Huddle: drops, replies, photos, lounges, waves, profiles, huddles and pull-ups. They follow Tanzanian law, including the Online Content Regulations.

Last updated 29 October 2026

01Be real

  • You must be 18 or older.
  • Use one account, as yourself. Don't pretend to be another person, a business or an official body.
  • Don't buy, sell or share accounts or usernames.

02Respect people

  • Disagree with ideas, not people.
  • No harassment, bullying, insults or threats, in public or in waves.
  • No hate against anyone for their tribe, ethnicity, religion, nationality, gender, disability or health.
  • If someone closes their door or blocks you, leave them be. Don't make new accounts to reach them.

03No sexual content

  • No nudity, pornography or sexual content, including drawings and AI-made images.
  • Nothing that sexualises children, ever. We remove it, close the account and report it to the authorities.
  • Never share intimate images of anyone.

04No violence or crime

  • No threats, incitement to violence or praise of attacks.
  • Nothing that supports terrorism or violent groups.
  • No selling or promoting drugs, weapons or other illegal goods and services.
  • No content that encourages self-harm or suicide. If you're struggling, please talk to someone you trust.

05Tell the truth

  • Don't spread false information that could cause public harm, panic or violence.
  • Don't post fake or AI-made content meant to deceive people.
  • Label opinions as opinions, and be careful sharing things you can't confirm.

06Protect privacy

  • Don't share other people's phone numbers, addresses, exact locations or private photos.
  • Keep members-only drops and lounge messages in their huddle. Don't screenshot or repost them elsewhere.
  • Never share a pull-up's exact spot with people who didn't join.

07No spam or scams

  • Don't flood huddles, lounges or waves with the same message.
  • Never ask people for money, mobile money codes, passwords or sign-in codes.
  • Only sell in huddles whose house rules allow it. Businesses that want to reach people can work with us on Sponsored posts.

08Respect creators

Only post photos, music, videos and writing you made or have permission to share.

09Pull up safely

  • Meet in public places, especially the first time.
  • Tell a friend where you're going.
  • Respect the place you meet, the people there and the law.
  • If someone makes you feel unsafe, leave, and report it.

10Follow each huddle's house rules

Hosts can set extra rules for their huddle, like "football talk only". Read them and stick to them. Hosts must apply them fairly and within these guidelines.

11Report what's wrong

Report anything that breaks these guidelines from the ⋯ menu on a drop, message, profile or huddle.

Hosts can act in their huddle and our staff review every report. When five different people report someone within 7 days, their door closes automatically and staff take a look.

12What happens when rules are broken

Depending on how serious it is, we may remove the content, warn you, limit what you can do, suspend or close your account, or archive a huddle. Serious harm, like threats or sexual content involving children, means an immediate ban and a report to the authorities.

If you think we got it wrong, write to support@huddle.us within 30 days.
